In the lab we favorably use Chip-Chip, Barcode and SGA methods to gain understanding of yeast genetics. We developed low cost microarrays that use unmodified 20mer oligonucleotide probes printed on conventional surfaces show comparable hybridization signals to covalently linked 5'-amino-modified probes. We use those arrays for systematic cell size analysis, chemical profiling of the budding yeast genome-wide deletion collection [1]. The lab has two pinning platforms to perform genome wide synthetic genetic analysis screens.
